Sayuri Eleanor 

Age:22  Tokyo,Japan

 

 Sayuri Eleanor was born in Japan and moved to the U.K. at 3 months old with her family. At the age of 3, Sayuri started taking dance classes at a tiny church in London and also told her parents that she wanted to learn the "deep sounding cello" after going to her older sister's music concert.Her first cello was named "China chubby cello", which nobody quite remembers why.  

 

             

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

  After moving to Hong Kong at the age of 10, Sayuri started performing in various concerts and shows around London, Hong Kong and Macau.She moved back to Japan at 16 years old and spent her high school years as the leader and choreographer of her school's dance team. She then entered Keio University and is currently studying popular music at Goldsmiths,University of London.

 

  Sayuri has been performing regularly in gigs around Tokyo and also writes songs mainly focused on jazz crossover music. She visited the U.S. in 2014 Summer to participate in the Stanford Jazz Institute and also flew to New York and performed in sessions. Sayuri was also chosen as the youngest finalist in "MCM Classical Crossover Grandprix 2015", directed by former executive classical producer of Universal Music Japan,Makoto Shinohara.
